For OSA patients, treatment options are mainly divided into non-drug treatment, drug treatment and general treatment. General treatment includes risk factor control, etiological treatment, and positional treatment (sleeping in the side position), while non-pharmacological treatment includes non-invasive positive airway pressure therapy, oral appliances, surgical treatment, and electrode implantation therapy. Among them, non-invasive ventilator treatment is the first choice and primary treatment method for adult OSA patients. The specific ventilator working modes are divided into 3 modes: single-level positive airway pressure (CPAP), automatic positive airway pressure (APAP) and bi-level positive airway pressure (BPAP). CPAP is the first choice for treating OSA patients; APAP is suitable for people who are intolerant to CPAP; BPAP is suitable for patients whose treatment pressure exceeds 15cmH₂O, or who cannot accept or are not adaptable to CPAP, as well as patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or obesity hypoventilation syndrome.
